Dated property with very mediocre service and staff attitude. Location along the ocean is the draw (and ocean views are magnificent). Overall it’s a 3 star operation at a 5 star location.

We’ve stayed here many times since 2014 and every year something changes. This time the service was horrible, almost no gulf carts to take you around, you have to wave the staff down to get serviced. The new young staff are extremely lazy and rude, bring back the mature workers.

Overall a great property with lots of amenities, water park, lazy river (nicely designed), lots of bars and restaurants. Great bowling alley. Decent nighttime shows. Some great food at the buffets but mostly just okay. The specialty restaurants we tried were all very good. Main complaint would be lack of service around pools and sometimes at the beach. Seemed like restaurants were inadequately staffed to provide quick service and were also not open to capacity due to staffing. Loved the decor in all the common areas, restaurants and rooms. A great vacation for our family of 5! (Kids ages 9, 11, 14)

My wife and I stayed here for our 10yr anniversary. This was our first time in the D.R. Overall, we would rate it a 4 out of 5. We stayed on the adults only side with the "royal service", which included a concierge.The resort had a great view and was nice and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! We couldn't say enough good things about the staff. We made some good friendships with them. Juan Alexander F was an incredible bartender and become one of those friendships! Milton at Sante, Wanda and the poolside bar, and Martini at the royal service beach were also incredible!! They helped make our trip!!We were a little disappointed with the food, but that may be because we were comparing it to all inclusives in Mexico. It was still good, but not amazing.We did not like how many people tried to sell you excursions or items on the beach either. We did not get that at the Paradisus in Playa Del Carmen. It seemed like someone was either trying to sell you on the circle club or an excursion. They did leave when you said no, I just didn't want to have to say no so often. Punta Cana as a whole seemed safe and the people were friendly. We went out and did the Rex Buggie Adventure, which was a lot of fun! We plan on going back to Punta Cana with our kids The beach was beautiful, the water was clean and warm, and the pools were great! We would recommend staying at Paradisus Palma Real atleast once. We're just not sure if we would go back for a second time.

Great place if you aren’t looking to get rowdy and party. Very relaxing, beautiful landscape, lots of mini bar drinks with water, soda, and beer included. Food was good . No late night options or 24/hr food options. Lots of walking, but shuttles are always running wherever you need to go.
